双寿園製陶所では茶碗を主軸に300種類ものオリジナル商品を制作しています。主力は口元を厚く仕上げた『厚口茶碗』。通常のものよりすこし重いですがとても”丈夫”です。絵付けは手描きを始め、他の窯元ではもう見られなくなった珍しいスクリーン印刷での絵付けも現役で稼動中。また、”陶器のあたたかさと強度を兼ねそなえた器”「強化磁器」の開発にも力を入れています。時代の流れをキャッチするため、常にアンテナを張り、時代にあったデザインを考えて新しい風を吹き込もうと努力しています。
At Souzyu-en Pottery, we produce 300 different original products centering on tea bowls. The main product is the “Atsuguchi Chawan,” which means thick mouth tea bowls. It’s a little heavier than the normal one, but it’s very “strong”. Painting begins with hand-painting, and painting with rare screen printing, which is no longer seen at other potteries, is still in operation. In addition, we are also focusing on the development of “ware that combines the warmth and strength of pottery”― “strengthened porcelain”. In order to catch the trends of the times, we are always keeping our antennas up, and we are striving to bring in a new wind by thinking about designs that match the times.
