白雪ふきんが誕生した昭和４０年頃、当時、ふきんといえば、 当たり前のように無地が主流でした。
時を経て現在、 生活のスタイルが様変わりする中にあっても、 ふきんは、毎日変わらず使う道具です。 そのふきん一枚で、日々の食卓や台所仕事に華やぎを添えられたら…。 その想いから、現当主が、自らふきんにデザインを施すことを発案。 日本人が古来より愛してやまない、奈良・吉野山の“桜”を描いてみたのです。 以来、“桜”はバリエーションが増えた今でも大変人気のある代表作のひとつ。
紫陽花、紅葉…デザインも増え、 季節ごとの彩りが揃う「日本の四季シリーズ」が完成しました。さらなる新しいシリーズも、次々と発表しています。
We finally reached the Japanese representative dyeing “Kyo Yuzen” by pursuing the dignity and splendid color through imagining designs one by one, drawing, and dyeing. Although it was very difficult to dye “Kyo Yuzen” on our rough and thin weave fabric which is different from silk weave fabric used for Kimono, we can express our ideal designs with the careful handwork that is made by the professionals who have high skills and experiences in the end. There are some designs such as “THE BEAUTY OF JAPAN series” which is expressively dyed Kacho Fugetsu (the beauties of nature), “Kawaii series” which is full of prettiness, “World Story series” which express some scenes stay in people’s minds. Every series provides you the ultimate beauty without giving in. We are very glad if you enjoy the beauty, pleasure, and season in your daily lives when you choose your favorite designs.
